I like my T-Jet - if I wanted fuel economy I would have bought a hairdryer on wheels. And I love the raw sound of the T-Jet engine, but if I wanted to sound like a knackered taxi I would have bought...
...oh yeah, an M-Jet
[time to duck]![]()
But i can enjoy it, it just doesnt cost me as much to as it does youi can see this thread going on and on forever, what you have said above tommy is it all summed (apart from the "however the advantages stop there!!!") and i totally agree. A T-Jet will never get over 40mpg so that is a disadvantage but why go through life worrying about a number, i don't, i drive how i want too without worrying about mpg, its there to be enjoyed.

nah its more fun this way and I know where they are to keep a eye on them![]()
Wouldn't that be because the T-jet has only been available since Sept 07???? Theres gonna be more M-jet drivers out there... obviously!
To be honest i dont care which car is better..im enjoying my T-jet... and im not afraid to say so..![]()
Rich knows there will be less because of when the T-jet was released, thats why he said it
I can see this thread going on for a very long time, if you drive far buy an m-jet, if you don't then buy a T-jet.
Simple.
If you want a better all round car, buy an mjet.
To reiterate your own fate dutchess you have indeed bought a 'hairdryer on wheels' without knowing it seems! The 1.4 T-Jet is laboured, noisy and struggles to shift convincingly. The 'Sporting' tag is a bit of a misnomer I'm afraid.
Those that can't accept, after driving both versions, that the MJet is quicker, quieter, more flexible through the gears and more economical than a T-Jet are either in denial because they made the wrong choice, an agnostic Fiat representative or just plain stupid.
What a load of crap. You say that you have driven both versions, well if you have then you would have noticed that the T-Jey is increasingly quieter than the M-Jet unless you are partially def. I myself have driven both and the M-Jet is loud not only whilst pulling off but also at a steady 70. Its a diesel for gods sake, they always have been alot more noisy than a petrol. If your saying that the 1.4 T-Jet doesn't really deserve the sporting tag then tell me why the punto mk1 sporting had a 1.4 turbo engine. You can't class a car being a hairdryer on the basis of its engine capacity. T-Jet owners are not in denial, its just that M-Jet drivers are pissed that they are not the only sporting model available now.
Time is a great healer....you'll get over your mistake I'm sure
Oh....forgot to mention that the MJet holds it's value better too and it's tuning options are far superior. Sorry!

I wonder if that could possibly be down to the fact that the engine has only been available for 5 months, lets see what performance mods are available in 2 years time which is how old the M-Jet is now.
