Re: Sporting JTD - I cant decide - Reliability?

£10000 for the car, £2500 negative equity (only had my 1.2active for a year and a bit) it is on finance basicly im still paying the list price but if i got the tjet i would have been paying 2.5k over asking price.
was a bit of a stupid move changing my car at the time i did, but at the same time i just didnt feel safe in my 1.2 active after the accident i had in it. makes me laugh stoneacre wanted £40 more a month on a base 1.2active. i laughed at them told them to price up the 1.4tjet sporting for me. they did and also without me asking priced up the mjet version that they had on stock there and then. that same day i drove away in a brand new mjet sporting.

Xbox 360 is obviously better. Playstation is for n00bs, like T-Jets! ;)

Hate Xbox And Don't Like T-Jets .. Ps3 And M-Jets All The Wayyy .. Get A Map [Red Dot] .. BMC CDA .. Upgrade Intercooler .. New Forge Undercar Struts :slayer:

ps3 is quite amazing, i have a 360 tho! mjet rather than tjet although if tjet was more powerful i'd have one..

Yep, same here if it had more power .. Just like if the 360 had better graphics and performance i'd have one (y)

A 1.4 is a hair dryer? PMSL, the 1.0 12v on a corsa is a hairdryer even sounds like one. The 1.4 16v Super FIRE is one of the best <2.0L Petrol engines ever made IMO. I'd love to have the patience to do a Supercharger conversion 160-210bhp, 200kg lighter than a GPS and then see who's boss good bye Mjet, good bye Tjet eat my toyo smoke haha. But that would just be showing off like comparing the size of our dongs.

This thread is so dumb its like comparing chalk and cheese. THe mjet is as good as the tjet and vice versa but at different things. There both brilliant engines.

I had a Corsa 1.0 12v as a courtesy car once, thought it sounded awesome with the 3 cylinder - like a mini Porsche :D

Had a 1.4 Panda 100hp and thought it sounded ok, still not a touch on my old triple carb Datsun 260z or latter Alfa 147 Cloverleaf...

My Mjet does sound like a tractor though :( Turbo is almost inaudible on mine. I do actually cruise at 65-70mph in the outside lane on Dual Carriageways now so I can whack it down to 4/5th and watch agro BMW tail-gaters disappear in a puff of smoke, I then slow down to let them pass me about a mile later and give them a smug grin as they look dead-ahead clenching their steering wheels with rage at the embarassment... ;)

Do you think? Aren't diesels as developed as they're going to get afterall whats really happened, they've gone common rail, multivalve and turbo charged. Trouble I find with diesels is they're still a little agricultural, can't beat the smooth, revy power of a petrol. Diesel only exists for fuel economy really.

I agree, I think you will see more diesel hybrids in the next few years, petrol is on its way out. PSA group and GM have invested hundreds of millions into diesel hybrids.

theyve also poured money into developing more economicala nd more pwoerful petrol engies.

i.e the t-jet, multiair system, that new 2 cylidner turbo thing, also small capacity high power is the way to go.

Now, I've not had time to read all the replies here, but I think you are both/all wrong. Sure they may both be fast, but the T-Jet relies on inelegent engineering by merely banging a turbo on to increase the power, there are ways and means to get 100bhp/litre out of a petrol engine without blowing it, (BMW did it years ago) and the 1.9 M-Jet is an 8 valve, SOHC, which is presumably why it sounds like ........... it does:rolleyes:

Your 1.3 M-Jet, that's where it's at. :D

You may well be right Ffoxy, but there's been plenty of other irrelevant and badly argued replies to this thread, I don't see why I should be any different (y)

like to see you 'bang' a turbo onto an n/a engine seing as you think its so simple.

https://www.fiatforum.com/cinquecento-seicento/

The crazy folk down in the Cinq/Sei section have been turboing FIRE engines for many a year now :slayer:

But I do agree, it's not as simple as 'bang' a turbo on and away you go... however anyone who is handy with a spanner, knows a good fabricator/can weld and is willing to trawl scrapyards/Ebay for parts can get it done :)
