Re: Sporting JTD - I cant decide - Reliability?

Well guys, Ive now joined the club, pick her up on Friday :)

Goodbye to my less than trusty Fabia and hello to the world of Italian car ownership!

Hello there,

Congratulations for joining our club.

I had a great deal of niggles with my car, but crucially, she always started on the button, always got me from A to B, no buts, no ifs. Since she turned 2 years old though, I haven't had any issues whatsoever, seems all is sorted now.

You'll find the 1.9JTD hugely reliable, the only blot so far being the EGR valve, but then again that is something that a great deal of diesel engines have issues with, no matter what the brand.

You'll also find a few niggles in the cabin, although I guess they should have been rectified by now...

I am sure you will enjoy the ownership of your GP, any issues you have drop us a line, there are dozens of super-helpful and knowledgeable people on this site!

Re: Sporting JTD - I cant decide - Reliability?

I think i posted it friday night / saturday morning when i was quite drunk

Will let ya off this time :p - Only coz u normally amuse me with how blunt you are with stupid people.

Re: Sporting JTD - I cant decide - Reliability?

t-jet meh :p. the 1.9 has more power and torque, i was looking at a t-jet when i was buying my m-jet and i got 3k knocked off it and i love my car to bits. my girlfriend says she wants to drive it, ive said no way get your own car lol.
only problams i have had with my car is the dealer, i will buy another fiat but i wont use the same dealer again!

Re: Sporting JTD - I cant decide - Reliability?

Its alright, hes a noob stuff he posts is pretty redundant if attempting to get into the Mjet Tjet argument.

I agree... we been there, done that and read the Haynes manual lol...

Anyone heard from Beany_Bot recently? Vanished without trace, last Post 6 days ago! :p

Re: Sporting JTD - I cant decide - Reliability?

I have had a lot of reliabilty issues..

I have had 1 for over and a year and half now... was ace when i 1st got it. 55plate, orange, had done 19k miles. after 2 months things started to go wrong. indicators not working, then the EGR valve, the gearbox selector bars, front springs snapped, rear shockers started leaking, electrics working on there own, (fog lights, rear window eater, city steering)... Ive had the it into the garage on 14 different occasions.... in 18 months. I now have an extended warranty, a mot warranty (will be used later this month) and have had a free service.... the garage has helped me no-end... (stoneacre believe it or not)
Y havnt i got rid??? coz when its fixed again i fall in love again!! the car has now done 45k miles and is still going strong,... will just need to fix the broken door handle mechanism for the 3rd time lol...
It may have broken a lot of times but i love it!! Did a 405 mile trip this weekend and averaged 53mpg.... Will i get another Fiat??? possibly not... But i will keep this 1 for years to come :D

Nah, not trying to say mjet is better than t-jet, just saying its a good car.
If it wasnt for the 3k off the mjet i would have had the tjet as it was a sporty petrol i wanted.
at the end of the day whats better, a clean sounding petrol engine or 3k still in my pocket. if you ask me its a no brainer.
Do i regret my choice, hell no i love my car. its only my second car been driving for 3 years in june, cost me 625 on insurance last year which i dont think is bad as im 23 and only have 2 years no claims.

sporting twid. do you use the stoneacre in scunthorpe? i use the grimsby one and i hate them.
