So, my car is quite well known locally as it is very individual and makes a fab sound from the induction kit, but tonight I raised the bar!!

I bought KC's DTR exhaust off him last weekend and fitted it to LRB this evening - my god what a noise

After I fitted the exhaust I took the car for a quick blast around the local countryside, my wife said she could hear me buzzing around the local lanes for miles!! When I arrived home I left the car running outside the garage while I tidied up and two of my neighbour's came out to see what the noise was!

I cannot believe how loud the exhaust is, almost a little bit too loud for me but I have noticed that there is a lot more power low end, I have never suffered once the rev's are up but low end has always felt a little sluggish - no more!!

The only issue is that the exhaust has cracked on the weld, I have applied a field patch and am going to see if DTR will honour their lifetime warranty and replace/fix it - I will let you know how I get on!

One last word, anyone on here with the DTR exhaust - can you feel the vibrations from the exhaust or is it just me??

If you get the reciept just call quoting invoice saying not able to get the time to go to DTR and you will return the defective part for inspection. But will need to be sent to Kiery's addy not yours..........

Hmmm, good point - annoying thing is I am passing DTR twice a day on the train at the moment..........

Hello Lee,
glad your happy with the exhuast:D . it is quite loud but does sound nice, bet you cant help put your foot down now, just to hear the noise.

If its any help, Dtr done the exhaust on 06/12/01 invoice 3714
reg no. N196 MGH to Mr P Valentin , They always serviced, delt with the car prior to this and sold it on 11/08/04 Invoice 8638. I,d be happy to say that you have now bought it.

Not quite LRB update more of an LRB steering wheel operator update!!

I finally met with the consultant about my back today and it was one of those good news/bad news moments!

Good news is that the condition has not worked its way up my spine which is what everyone was worried about............bad news is that the condition has progressed quite badly in my lower back :(

One of the lowest discs has become so badly prolapsed and herniated that the consultant could not believe I was able to walk, when he showed me the size of the disc bulge I was almost sick!!

It is dangerously close to the spinal cord (hence the reason I keep getting numb feet), but as it is not causing me too much pain at the moment he wants to try and keep me going with 'conservative' measures such as swimming and core exercise. Surgery is a foregone conclusion but I could be ok for a couple of years, on the other hand next time it goes it may be my only option.

Oh well, it could always be worse - does mean that I am going to have to be very careful from now onwards, looking at the state of my back it would not take much to knock me off my feet permanently!

So, given the above - do I have any volunteers to get under LRB and straighten the exhaust up????? :D

Lee sorry to hear that and know obviously exactly where you are comming from. I went to Chorley yesterday for another MRI pre op on my neck as the consultant want's to check if there is any problems there before opperating.

One concern I have for you is that if your spinal cord is an issue I wouldn't f**k about with just exersises it's too much of a risk and would look at surgery sooner rather than later. I'm luckier in that the way my disc has prolapsed is on the outside and pushing onto/crushing the sciatic nerve so easier to opperate. If you leave it too long it maybe too late so pick your options carefully, not that I don't think you already have.

What ever way you go I wish you health and happiness.....

Thanks Al. It is a bit of a tricky one, the best option at the moment is non-intrusive treatment so in other words core stability exercises, not anything heavy duty.

The secondary consideration I need to give to the situation is that maybe now is a good time to give up contracting and look for a permy position, if (when) I have to go for an op I will be off work for a few months and as a contractor no work = no money! Its a difficult call, I am not too bad at the moment so could probably find a permy position quite easily but am enjoying contracting (as much as anyone can enjoy work that it!!), but if my back goes again that is when I will need the permy stability - of course if it goes I will not be in a position to go for interviews!!
