Hi,
losing the chipped keys is an expensive mistake,

generally speaking you'd need a virginised ECU for this,

or a replacement key and get it coded to the vehicle.

neither of these are cheap - so it's often cost effective to claim on an insurance policy's KEY COVER - and put up with the increase in premiums.

Coded key - £85

House Insurance - FREE now - another @£50 over the coming years..

The key code card was the one that gives you your:

Ignition Key Number.
Immobiliser Code.
Radio Code (Not sure if this was on it or separate).

I had non 'chipped' keys cut. After proving that they turn in steering lock barrel, carefully saw off key blade on original key and fasten blue plastic key part to lock barrel after removing steering column shroud. It can be done, nudge nudge wink wink. This 'bypasses' immobilizer and gives the security of a 1980's car.

The OP didn't say he hadn't got one. In my case I had both original keys, but remote key had damaged body and non working transponder chip. Dealer said it was still in wrapper. It turned out to be sellotape. Standard key, t-chip worked. Standard key was used as permanent t-chip. R/C key araldited repair and kept as 3rd emergency key used with care. Always good to read all your helpful comments varesecrazy. Please keep up good work.

Ive done similar..you just need the aerial to READ the chip

However you need a paired aerial and chip..

No good if youve lost the keys.

i have a similar CODE card for the key. and i have lost the only key i had for my punto 176. can i get a new replacement key from these numbers? my car was built in 1997. will there be a chip in the key?

Chip.. yes.. 95% sure

But.. it probablycame with Red And Blue keys.. Master and Slave
