Im Back! thanks for all the help previously guys

but I was driving to work today no problems until... my brava starts playing me up again! It has been a couple of days without anything major so i deserve it really!its a p reg 1.4 5 door

Feels like its running out of petrol but then if you drop a gear you have power for a few seconds then feels like you're running out of petrol go back to third and you have power for a few seconds. its hard to explain...

you can accelerate through it sort of but then it happens again. all jerky and awkward.

any ideas what it could be?

Also while im here is nightdriving visibility always poor on bravas or is it just my lucky car

exactly the same happened to my bravo 1.6, it was the lambda sensor, it would be fine sometimes then be really sluggish and wouldn't pull away, exactly as you described... replaced it with a non genuine part, was okay for a couple of months then did it again, so replaced it with a genuine bosch sensor and it's been fine for the 6 or so months soon, touch wood :)

Often seems to be those pesky 'quality' Bosch parts that let go first LOL

Unplug the MAF and if it still does it it is probably a loose or split vacuum pipe! More common on turbo cars but can still affect injection models. Or a blocked fuel filter? Can be lots of things but check the above before the dreaded visit to the man with the diagnostic equipment!!

1.4 don't have MAF sensor.
Like already mentioned, lambda, or fuel pump.
Last service was done when and what.
