back-lit disply on 1.6Auto/Power steering

My odomometer and gear-display no longer illuminate. Can anyone tell me what is likely to cause this and how to rectify please? Also the PAS sometimes becomes very heavy for a few seconds, usually within the first 5 minutes of starting the engine. Again, any ideas as to cause/rectification greatly appreciated. Many Thanks

most probably be the push in bulbs behind the clusters. I had same problem when i bought my car,it never illuminated at all.

As for the PAS,check your fluid sounds like you could be low,could be the motor too but check your fluid first!
