Technical losing faith in fiat

hullo ! new to all this and unfortunatly i have little knowledge at all about cars however i'm learning and would apprecciate some advice as ive gone through 2 fiat puntos in the past 5 months (this may have something to do with the age of the cars) i'm currently driving a 1.9L fiat marea weekend and although iv not come across anything major yet there are a few little things i would like to sort out .
1. my windscreen wipers have gone doo-lally(crazy) some days they dont work others they wont go off ! fuses are all fine so i'm putting it down to a dirty contact or some loose wiring.
so would anyone mind parting with a bit of ther wisdom and giving me a hand before i get pulled over by the police or crash

What age of diesel is it? Do you know if its the TD or JTD? Not that has anything to do with the wipers but the TD has some problems that the JTD does not.

I take it the car is a few years old..........things go wrong with any car/object.

Get secondhand wiper motor from scrappy.

the car is 8 years old and is a TD . only done 50,000 m so its in fairly good nick thanks for your help every1 will keep u updated
