Does anyone have an early Tipo, preferably a dgt/ dgt sx or 1.9 tds they want rid of, one with a digital dash.

And does anyone want a deal on an immaculate yellow mk1 Punto if they do

I think now is the time for one, as I’ve been on about it for years.
The 16v on eBay just now is lovely but too much money

A few threads back, last year, there was domtheboyo's Mk1 for sale. Not sure if it's worth checking if he sold it, as it looked a nice Mk1. There aren't many and the Mk1 TDS is just about extinct. Nice Punto yours, the swooping dash on the Mk1 was quite something and my mate had a Bravo that lovely colour.

They are pretty thin on the ground now,

But do pop up occasionally,

I found a VERY early '88 one with a check/grid style analogue dash, never saw another

No point replacing the Punto with something I’m not really happy with.

In an ideal world, a blue one with blue interior, just like the one I grew up with

I had 2 x red dgt models, concurrently
Identical they were.. Apart from the boost gauge

One was a 1.4 - the other a 1.9,

Yes I have one. An early 1.4 DGT.

I imported it from Malta (as they are full U.K. spec but not rotten), then spent a fortune on it. During that time an already restored later 1.6DGT SX arrived and I used that while the 1.4 was being finally sorted. Of course, then covid hit. It’s never re-emerged!

It will do at some point, but won’t be this year now!

One or the other will be sold at some point. They have both been in storage since covid.

And I always fancied your Punto as you know! Though that would involve having to sell my 90ELX, but anyway…..

Doubt you’ll find an earlier 1.4 DGT. The whole reason I imported it, was that I hadn’t been able to find a DGT in many years of looking. I doesn’t have a spot of rust by the way - when Project Shop sorted the mechanicals, they took the engine out and still couldn’t find more than a couple of surface blemishes on the front valance (which they sorted). The benefits of Malta, but also why it needed a lot of maintenance on the mechanical side (been family owned from new, but just driven around without a lot of preventative servicing). Will have to try to remember how to add photos…….

Managed to upload a few. This is the 1.4DGT fairly obviously. Still on the alloys at the moment which are original, but I also sourced a new set of the iconic plastic wheeltrims as is intended to get it looking like the press photos…..

I think I’m more attached to the 1.6 just because I’ve used it. This is despite the ridiculous amount I spent on the other one - both have had well

I don’t know why, maybe it’s just me but they look so much better on an F or a G plate.

That’s exactly what id do, get it back to complete standard, I love the original wheel trims, was always fascinated by them as a kid when my parents had theirs.

Well if you want rid of one of them and a shiny yellow Punto in its place, give me a shout

In more than happy if it stays. Just no space for 2 cars that don’t get used
