Just noticed that the Panda 100HP doesn't come with a locking filler cap. I was suprised by that but perhaps syphoning off other people's fuel is a thing of the past. I am an old fart in my mid forties remember.

Anyway - did an Ebay search and found a vendoe online doing them with two keys for £17.99 plus £2 p/p.

So I thought I would check with my local dealer - not the one I bought the car from -and guess what? £15 AND he actually had one in stock!

That has to be a double first for me - Dealer cheaper than the internet AND he had one in stock. I often think dealers don't actually have a parts warehouse - I thought they just disappeared round the back for a fag to give you time to decide wether to order or not.

So nobody will be stealing my 35 litres of fuel when petrol prices go through the roof again - as they surely will when the IRAQ War III kicks off.

Asked about this last year when I bought mine but no-one knew anything about one they were going to try a Punto one and get back to me (yep I am still waiting). Funnily enough saw this on the Fiat Accessories webiste this morning so this is on my list too.

Thanks

I will have to get one for mine, i'm not worried about the tank being drained, more worried about chav's putting something in the tank.

The Fiat part numbers are Petrol = 71802520 Diesel = 71802900

Result! (y)
Although I often find I can get some bits from dealers cheaper than the interweb. But I get the staff discount.:p

Marea looks good mate- had a Bravo HGT with same 5 cylinder 20V engine - do you ever get along to the Scottish Italian Car Day at Craigtoun Park in St. Andrews?

Do I take it the flap doesn't lock along with the doors as it does with every car out there?

Nope - pretty sure you'll find that the flap just lifts back to reveal unlockable fuel filler cap. If the flap was lockable there would normally be an internal release button of switch. I know it seems odd in this day and age but easily rectified for £15 from a dealer.;)
