Panda location of Engine number - Fiat Panda 1.2 Dynamic (2011)

Hello all,

I have bought a second hand Fiat Panda 1.2 Dynamic 2011 model

I can not get roadworthy because they can not find the engine number to verify it.

Despite removing the aluminium cover and air filter, I see only two short numbers: NY05 and 552021-1
The ENGINE NUMBER on the motor vehicle licence is: 188A40005964573

Anyone know exactly where the engine number is located?

Its under the exhaust manifold in the left hand side of the car really difficult to see... its on a protruding chunk of metal, but it is really difficult to see. On the actual motorblock (below the head, and headgasket, so on the steel and not the aluminium) if this makes sense...

Do i need to remove any part or its possible to see directly ?

I dont think so, but you will need a mirror. But when thats said Ive only ever looked at it with the engine out... Hope it helps

nope you don't need a mirror

its on the top

its faint laser etched it will need cleaning

can be viewed without removing anything

Crikey what a nausea having to locate that!
I used to have to read aircraft component serial numbers with a mirror - cant recall what the component was but it was a Hawker Hunter fighter with very little access to the actual component
