I'll be collecting the car next week (after its MOT) ... after which I'll be able to check the sill seam underneath and assess the condition. But judging by the general solidity of the underside (no rust on the car body) and the apparently genuine 53,000 miles on the clock I'll be surprised if I find any bubbling etc as you mention. But thanks for the insight on what to look for - appreciated
