Have u got a cinq or a Sei? I've heard about a few seis getting wet in their footwells. Never heard of a solution to it tho but someone I know lived on a hill and when they parked it facing uphill it got wet but not when they parked it downhill! Or something like that - actually this post isn't very useful to you and I'm just gabbling on so I'll shut up

My mates parents' merc does the same, no solution yet.... except from parking the other way

Took the carpet up this morning and im no clearer where the water has come from. Will have another look 2moro. Will take take the seats... up as i have to take the sound proofing / padding out anyway.
Even worse luck = when i was on the way home i went staright through a camera doing 40 in a 30, I didnt slow down coz it was different markings on the floor, spiked instead of lines. I didnt see it flash but im gonna be ****ting meself for the next couple of weeks, mainly coz im 18 and wont be able to afford insurance next year.

If it did flash you it shouldn`t effect your insurance to much,my mate got flashed and when he phoned his insurance company they said no worries coz most people have three points now.
My fingers are crossed for ya!
Also about the leak have you had any rear passengers lately?With the amount of rain we`ve had lately you`d be suprised how much water they can bring in on their shoes,I`ve got rubber mats in the front of mine and theres always a small puddle on them when i get out.Without mats this could build up over time.
To check for other leaks take all seats and carpets out get in the car with a torch and get someone to aim a jetwash at the problem areas the torch should show up any trickles quite quickly.

Good advice about the leak. How bright is a camera flash coz thinking bout it i did see something flicker at the time? Is it really noticable? How long do they take to come through if they do flash ususallly?

The flash is usually quite bright but it flashes after you go through so you only catch it in the mirrors,I think it can take up to 6 weeks.
But a lot of cameras only flash but have no film in them.

Wouldn't worry about the Camera unless you get the fine mate. I have been past a couple of speed camera vans doing too much speed and not got anything through

Took all the carpet, seats... up . Soaked up all the water, but still cant see how it could hyave come in. So pasted a thick layer of underbody seal all over, and lets just hope its sorted.

You leak: have a look for where the piping for your rear windscreen washer runs. It's a very remote possibility but it could be a leaky washer pipe.

Thats sorted i hope, coz there was no where water could have come in. and the pan is now sealed with underbody stuff. Fingers crossed. Thanks anyway.
