Right.......

Over the last week or so ive been gettin really bad condensation on the windows. I though it was probly the heating being on too hot recently or somin, but this evening i found the patch of carpet just behind the drivers seat to be soaked. Its literally only the floor part and nothing else seems to be wet. The buckets go right back, so it isnt dripping from the roof. Under the back seats are dry and all the carpet round the flt bit are dry so no trails? Any common probles or ideas. And i cant see any holes in the floor when i had a quick feel earlier.

May be a leak from the boot, check the spair wheel well for signs of water as well. You've not left the rear side windows uncatched slightly? could be getting in there as well.

Just a thought but are the buckets in there with custom-made subframes?

You had a passenger in there and they spilled their drink cos you been going
round corners too fast??!! :D:D:D

Sorry :p Can't think of anything else if there's no other signs.

yeah, it could come from the boot, the underside of the rear seats are metal, and the water could not be sucked up into the seat. My old XR3 used to have a leak in the boot, and the drivers footwell was always soaked, it took me ages to trace it back to the boot, but water was collecting under the spair tyre, and thats how I knew where to look.

EDIT:

Check around the door frames for breaks in the rubber seal. Also take a look underneath the car to find out where the lowest point is because that is where the water will collect (i.e. probably where its wet). Centos don't have a similar Heater Metrics set up to the punto do they?

perhaps you had a very nervous passenger once, and you've only just found out!

Got a full install so bit of a bastard to check the boot. :D Under the backseats doesnt seem to be wet at all though. And surely i would be able to see where it has come from round the side windows? Will ave a proper look 2moro in the light. May even rip the carpet up if i can be bothered. (y) Thanks for the help. Dan

Have you took the rear lights off recently? I had this leak before, it was coming in through the cluster and the wheel well was a pond, the carpet in the boot was soaking the back seat was soaking and also the carpet behind the drivers seat because if you park on a slope the water runs forward very easily.

Best bet is to strip the rear completely and jump in and get a mate to soak the car with a hose, obviously dry and miosture before you do this then you'll quickly see where the leak is.
