Its that time of year again

The first round is well underway with the odd surprise. Ted 'The Count' Hankey, who was Champ in 2000 (IIRC) has crashed out against Albertino Essers 3-1. Tony West lost 3-1 against Tony 'Silverback' O'Shea and Niels de Ruiter (who is current Dutch number 1 above Barney) lost to Shaun 'The Gentle Giant' Greatbatch, who beat him 3-2. That match was one of the best I've seen in a while . You could see how much it meant to Greatbatch - this is his fifth attempt at the Lakeside, and last night was the first time he got past the first round

When you say crashed out do you mean he's became unbalanced by his belly, or he's fell asleep after his 24th pint of special brew?

The last time there was a 9 darter at the Lakeside Championship was in 1990 by Paul Lim played against Jack McKenna. Lim hit 7 T20, T19 and D12 and it got him about £52K IIRC

nearly was a 9 darter in the game i watched last night a young lad 21 years old played some old man and kicked his butt, well nearly it was 3-2 in the end.lol
