Its that time of year again :D

The first round is well underway with the odd surprise. Ted 'The Count' Hankey, who was Champ in 2000 (IIRC) has crashed out against Albertino Essers 3-1. Tony West lost 3-1 against Tony 'Silverback' O'Shea and Niels de Ruiter (who is current Dutch number 1 above Barney) lost to Shaun 'The Gentle Giant' Greatbatch, who beat him 3-2. That match was one of the best I've seen in a while :D. You could see how much it meant to Greatbatch - this is his fifth attempt at the Lakeside, and last night was the first time he got past the first round :)

any 9 darters yet?

The last time there was a 9 darter at the Lakeside Championship was in 1990 by Paul Lim played against Jack McKenna. Lim hit 7 T20, T19 and D12 and it got him about £52K IIRC
