Styling KC3 Project Silver

Hi Will,

Its automotive spray paint and it was a colour I chose from a chart.

The colour is darker mettallic than the silver I have and chose it to complement the colours, because they have a clear coat and have been painted in a booth gives them a nice finish.

When I next see the painter I can get the exact paint code and colour. (y)

Still need to get the B on the rollers to see if any improovement has been made, and more than likely will need mapping again.
Although the design should help more at high end speed. :)

Yep! Thanks, Think that is the same as I have on mine.
DTR had her resprayed back in the years and believe it to be the new silver found on later B's.

Seems to be a nice silver so will be going in the the paint shop on Monday.
Pics to follow with the progress. :D

Discovered there is 5 shades of the 647 steel gray (silver) found on my B, mine is 3 shades lighter than dark, although I like the color I,m thinking of painting her something different.

This looks nice. :D

matte black will be awesome color... but it's pain to clean. every finger print is visible on that color.

Hiya!

Decided on the color. :D
Tungsten silver found on the Aston martin and the color shown on the cobra..
Here's some color swabs I chose, its the far left with lots of metallic flake and some pics on a car.

Some more work today! and some modification tweaks :D

Stripped down the hardtop, and discovered the head lining was on it way out,
so will be fitting a new one. This is actually good because i can now change the color and add a more professional up to date material. IMG_2608.JPG

Also made some small changes to the front bumper where the Naxos lip spoiler sits. Where it joins the bumper there are usually gaps between the two pieces, but now I have filled the gaps so the bumper will look as one piece.

And in the rear boot, I have removed the spare, (with my brake mods, it wouldn't fit anyhow) and made a plate that will sit where the wheel once was. I've used the lite weight alucobond material that I made my battery tray with again and so have shed some overall weight from the vehicle.(y)

Indeed :) Completely changes the attitude from dolphin to shark! What did you use to fill the gap?

Getting the B back together, I've added some extra modifications to better the vehicle.
I had bought the upgraded window guides from Henk (Barchetta parts) a while ago and now had the opportunity to fit them.
This should allow the windows to adjust up tightly to the rubbers and reduce any unwanted wind noise. :)

Also bought the upgrade seat belt rollers which help the seat belts to retract smoothly back into place. :)

Fitted Dynamat to inside of doors, around and within the rear arches, front wings, rear hood shelf, around speakers and inside the area where the fuel tank lye's. This will reduce vibrations and road noise felt through the vehicle and make the B feel more solid, quieter and smoother when driving and also improve the sound quality of the stereo . :D

I,m planning on changing the rear light system to have extra brake lights with either use of a third led brake light I have or using a red UK and red EU fog lamps wired to the braking system.

Pictures to follow.

Had to paint all the interior panels again as they were now clashing with the new color and have just painted them the same as the vehicle.

The center dash consul will be slightly different as I have cleverly stuck stickers over the lighted control areas and after there painted and removed will leave a larger black ring highlighting the lighted controls.

Pictures to follow on Monday.
