Styling KC3 Project Silver

Hi! Oz and all. :)

Manifold was purchased from larkspeed at £334 and i have had it fiited on the B. looks great only i do still have a slight problem with refitting the dual fans.

These needed to be removed when fitting the new manifold and now i dont seem to be able to refit them. :bang:

I was working on the B over at my friends workshop until quite late in the day and he needed to shut shop so the B is still on the ramp. Tommorrow i will need to have another go at refiting the fans.

The problem is that the new manifold is larger than the old and leaves very little space if any between the fans as mentioned on the Doc's thread.

Not sure if they will fit yet but may need to remove the rad, fit fans and then put back in place. Fingers crossed this will work.

Also planing to fit new oil catch tank but will need to sort fan issue first.

Will post pic's and guide when i can. (y)

you have to "split" the fans...
so they sit about 5 inch apart

Good work KC3, hope you get the fans sorted and get some pics up(y)
Thats cheap for the manifold, did that include vat? Cheapest i found was motorsportworld was 381 including vat, so thats good

mark

:D:):D

Managed to get the fans back on.

I needed to drop the plate at the bottom where the rad sits and the fans went into place.

They were sitting extremly close to the manifold so to overcome this there is a 8-10mm rubber washer that holds the rad in place at the top.

I removed this which allows the rad to sit futher back and thus giving 10mm clearance.

I have had the B upto temperature and no problems so far(y)

OH YER!!! The GOOD BIT! (y)

Driving her now puts a smile on my face. Feels alot more torque and free revving and sounds great too. :D:):D

Pictures to follow:

Excellent work KC, persevere with it - took me about an hour to re-seat the driveshaft after removing it to do the CV boot - it came out easily but was a barsteward to re-fit, just had to keep trying until I found a way to get it back in...........

something else for a second

rumour has it that SuperSprint have stopped making the "backbox" for the B.

at least that's what the geezer in the shop is telling me, thus he ordered a Remus instead....

this is pending investigation... i don't really believe him... if anyone picks up info about that being true, lemme know

In any case... i dont want a Remus, i wanted a SuperSprint becuz of the EEC homolation... , B failed the MOT on the exhaust and i had to go retest BEFORE the 3th May, but since no shop had one in stock, they all had to order and none of them were able to have them before next week (has to come from italy by road sir).

So, as of sunday i'll be driving illegaly... If i get in a accident, i'll be shafted by the insurance. When i go back for the MOT re-test, i'll have to pay a fine (for being late) AND they will be thorough... THAT is why it had to be the EEC homologated SuperSprint.

i didn't tell him to order me something i dont want grmbl

PS: IF the rumour is true, it might mean that SuperSprint might stop making the manifolds shortly also. But again i do not believe it.

I know! I am now spending more money and time on her than i am driving her.

Where do we stop!!

Was only thinking that i now need the exhaust to be shiny all the way to the end. New supersprint back box maybe.

yes, very true, but i'ld rather not pay close to 100 UKP to have it shipped to the European mainland :)

There are "a few" shops around, esspecially over the German border, less then 20 miles away , i'l have a look there :)

Unless someone coming to Watford the 11th wants to be postmaster?

If your comming over on the 11th, order one, put it on and drive back.

I once drove to munich for a hard top purchased cheap on ebay, seller wouldnt send to uk.

Driving there and back was fun, cost effective and still cheaper than finding one here in the uk.
