Look into a cold air box, If you made one from aluminium it wouldn't cost the world. Although completely unnecessary for standard cars, a tuned engine would benefit from this modification.
It would also be a good idea to remove or cease the function of the variator if you use forced induction, instead if you overlap the valves you can utilise the fresh charge to cool the cylinder temperatures.
It is difficult to explain but; the exhaust valves stay open for an extended period of time on the exhaust stroke which coincides with the inlet valve opening for the induction stroke, as the turbine is spinning and creating pressure, cold air is forced through the inlet valve into the cylinder and and exits through the exhaust valve immediately creating a sort of internal air cooling. The exhaust valve then closes for the compression stroke and the mixture is then combusted and the cooling cycle starts again on the next exhaust stroke.
It is very effective and is used in most highly tuned forced induction cars, obviously it isn't as effective as water spray.
