So im trading in my car in the next 2 or 3 days (scrappage), and obviously i want to remove my jvc headunit, but the keys have gone walkies.

I looked at halfords to see if they had some keys, but they seem to want £6+ for them, sod that for a 1-time removal.

So i was wondering if anyone knows a way to remove it without the keys?
I was thinking maybe some low profile screw drivers down the sides?

But if theres any radio thieves around i figured they might know an easier way? :)

Normally halfords let you borrow theirs if you ask.
If not then yeah a couple of very thin screw drivers should release the catches. Hell ive done it with pen lids lol.
Failing that take of the fascia and then get a screw driver under the cage and ease it out bit by bit. This may mess up the cage or the surround a bit though.

Ahh cool, ill try digging out my small screw drivers and give it a shot, worst case i guess ill ask at hallfords :)

pen lids!? lol i thought the clips were like half way down the unit, wouldnt of thought a penlid would reach... unless there not that far down in which case i have a few ideas! :D

Removed with a single pair of tweezers!...found some in the bathroom, looked pretty slim so stuck it down one side & heard a click, unclipped carpet on the side of the center console so i could get my hand behind the unit, pushed slighty (so it doesnt click back into place), did the same thing on the otherside... job done :D
