lol. simplicity is best. ;)
its all good tho. worked pretty well and sounded good, toyosports one is slightly louder than my diy one when u floor it and less turbulance into the engine, but a little more heat soak from the metal pipework vs the diy. id prob look at getting something to reduce the heat soak if i was gunna further mod my punto but cant be bothered now. sounds and looks good so im happy.

Our issue was that the Toyosports one wouldnt fit around the battery tray, the 90degree bend wasnt sharp enough, we tried placing it behind the battery, but it sat where the clutch and gear linkage is, and stopped us been able to change gear.

so we decided to hacksaw the pipe to make it fit.

but i agree, simplicity is best. but regarding the heat soak. the 16v engine emits a lot of hit, the plastic air box that sits on top of the engine gets very hot. im sure the our placement to the side is much less of a heat soak than before

all i did was remove the battery tray, bend the battery strap at the side in a little and drill another hole in the top part for it to fit. solved all the problems of fitment. doesnt sit on the coil pack or anything. ive also routed a cold air feed from the bumper and put it in the inner cone of the filter to get that little extra air flow.

sounds too much like hard work :p :D

in fairness i got to Andy's at 1pm to put on his coilovers. at 6pm we gave up and did this.

I think one day i might do it properly and buy the silicone pipes to make it look a little more put together than duct tape and yeah ill probably do what samurai suggested and move the battery tray a little bit. But im happy for now lol

Thats what Scrapheap challenge was invented for :rolleyes:

I might make an induction for the astra, shame its got intake sensors on it :(

He's uploaded all his photos, just not the videos. Maybe tonight after he's finished work (y)

I'll be in York next Wednesday if you want to meet up again :D

haha very true. Yeah but it seems pretty full in the bay for you to put anything anywhere else in there lol
Yeah i wanna hear these videos that he got, think he got a few of them. Yeah maybe just depends if im working or not which i think i probably will be
