Hi guys and gals, nice forum you got here!

Just today bought a W reg Punto ELX, and unfortunately has no manual! Just wondering about a few things ...

1) Are these remote central locking?? I only got one key which doesnt have a 'clicker'
2) How do I set the interior light to come on when the door opens?? (sounds stupid I know, but so many combinations on the switch!!)
3) How easy to get the back light off (the one on the side of the subwoofer unfotunately that looks like a pig to remove!) as Ive got some water in there.
4) How do I get at the sidelight bulb on the front headlight to change it?
5) Anyone tell me what all the readouts on the trip computer mean?

Thats about all (for now!), thanks for looking and hope someone can help me here!

1) elx in a mk1 shape would have remote locking, but fiat downgraded them when they put out the mk2, so I doubt it has it. although you can buy a simple relay and meta clicker from ebay for about £50, comes with two blippers and takes literally 10seconds to fit!
2) interior light, should work alright, if the door jam things are sticky just move tehm with your finger to free them up, dab a very small amount of light grease inside the rubber boot if its stiff. then play with the switch, there should also be markings on the light fitting telling you wher to put it!
3) rear light are removed with a little plastic widget thats inside your spare wheel bay, you remove the little plastic covers inside the rear d pillars (carefully, scratch or damage the plastic and you'll regret it). insert tool thing and undo, if its stiff put the screwdriver thru th hole in teh tool to get more leverage
4) sidelight no idea, I think on mk2's there are 2 or 3 seperate bulbs in there, find out which it is (other side will work and you'll see which panel to open on the broken side) and then look carefully at the light fitting, they'll be a wire trap thing that holds it in, simply pull it back and you can change bulb
5) the computer is fairly obvious, it tells you a number and there is a short code, like Odo, trip, total, mpg, time, date, etc etc

welcome to the forum(y)

Doesn't work on MK2 although you can buy a kit to add remote locking it is a bit more advanced and takes around an hour to fit, probably a three spanner job.

There is a cover that you have to release with a clip first to get into the lights im sure the side light is the first on the iner side aint sure though then you press the tabs in while slideing out the tube and the bulb will be on the other end very easy to do the side light bulb type is W5 sometimes they come like W5W and people think its the wrong bulb or misprint but it means W5Watts.

Oh yeah and welcome to the forum.. (y)

Cheers for all the replies, changed the bulb so now the warning on the dash has gone! (thought it was something serious at first!).

Think i'll live with the key opening the door, its not much effort! Just need to get a manual off ebay so I can work out the stereo and 10 disc changer!

i assume your readouts on trip computer are smae as mine soo they are

total miles done
trip counter ( miles since you reset it)
mpg is your average miles per gallon since you last reset
there is an average speed since you last reset
howlong car has been on road driving since ast reset in hours and minutes.
and also one wich i think has letter A at bigining is how many miles left in your tank based on your mpg above.

the miles left in tank stops working once the low fuel light comes on.

i have just bought a punto elx, and have no idea how to reset the trip counter (i think thats what its called! the counter that counts ur miles since you last reset it!)

i also think the petrol gage is a bit dodgey as i put 33 quids worth of petrol in it and the dial only shows about half full?!

if you could help, i dont know how to post my own question so i thort id try this way!

:p Probably a faulty meter with the petrol dial.

Post a new topic by going into the "Punto" section (click here) and click the "New Thread" button, it looks like this:

That would enable you to post your own topic and question :D
