hmmm. each to their own i spose, but if it was my car I would not put/leave that on it purely because i would know myself that it was not what it looks like.
I have the same opinion on Abarth badges too so you may wanna ignore my input ;)

Yuk..............................

it's horrible! Get a real exhaust!

Korang, when you buy an Abarth body kit the badges come with it, you could choose not to stick them on, but there are indentations in the panels and they'd look stupid without the stickers in them. You cannot fit any other stickers in there as they are specifically sculptured for the Abarth badges.

Any one else reading in, it's ok, Korang thinks my car is a wannabe!

After all that 'debating', I agree with you now about these!

It just doesnt look nice, sorry :S

Cant the standard exhaust be cut down to make it hidden?

its not the worst ive seen but?! Doesnt look great! But nice try :)

Fink you could do with a set of alloys, they would look much beta than the hub kaps! They seriously make a stilo look ****! sorry jus my opinion! (fink i rememba bout u saying u cudnt or somting to wiv ya insurance company!! Surely if u get a set of fiat 1's they wudnt be none the weiser!)

lol... no i don't think its a wannabe TC.. and i know you have to put the abarth badges on the skirts as they have the indents. i really like your car and what you've done to it mate ;)
The way i see it im seriously thinking about taking off the abarth badges on my car even though it is one, purely because i don't want people to think im making it one myself.. if you see my point.
Fiat should have released different Abarth style badges, one for the Abarths and one set that would be for the bodykits and tribute badges etc.
Maybe they should have made them in the italian flag style like i have seen.
When i get my bodykit fitted im getting the bodyshop to fill the hole where the designer badge should have gone.
I blame Fiat personaly ;)

Hey, your not copying me are you Koa? ;)

I took the badge of coz I knew some b****** would try and lever it off at the first opportunity - it also means nobody can tell what it is - surprises the BMW drivers tailgating you when you suddenly pull away from them too :D

:D .. i know what you mean there, its gonna cost more if someone does have a dig at getting it off too. I may get them to debadge it when it goes to get sprayed etc.. But knowing my insurance company they will class that as a mod too and im on my limits for mods now. Looks like im going to need to change to Adrian Flux. Good prices and they don't care about my mods.

When I bought the car i had to get shut of the wheels and a "proper exhaust " is also classed as a mod. For some reason most insurance companies who dont give me silly quotes wont allow mods at all(including proper exhausts and fiat alloys-yes i have tried this one), so for now its ****ty wheels and stick on tailpipes

Which model car do have? If alloys were a factory fit option on the car, you should be able to fit those exact ones and not have it classed as a modification.

If you bought the car and it had those alloys, you would not be able to tell if they were fitted at the factory, by the importer, the dealer (quite common) or a previous owner. You see my point?

Paul

Tried that one to. No-one will budge.

I have the 1.2 and they seem to know that the car comes without. Strange really considering my last car didnt exist and now they know lots about this one.

I thought i lived in a nice area to but about 6 months ago i walked passed a house down the road and the was a brand new honda civic type R in the drive- on bricks.

I can see the insurance company's point of view, if they have the car listed as not having alloys, after all, how often do people get their hub caps nicked and, even if they did, it still wouldn't be worth making a claim.

The conversation went something like

me:Heres the car reg
them:is that a fiat stilo 1.2 active black
me:yes
them:does this car have alloy wheels
me:yes, they are fiats own and are already on the car
them:erm... you havent bought the car yet have you as we cant insure you with those.
me: why?
them: Because its a modification
me: no its not, they are on the car, in the showroom, and they are fiats own
them: the 1.2 active does not have alloy wheels as standard, so its a modification.
me:even though the are fiat- manufacturer wheels?
them: Yes
me:thats a bit daft isnt it?
them:can the garage remove them before the sale of car?
me: Dont know, whats the policy on alloys then
them: we dont insure cars with them(-their exact words)
me: my dads car has alloys, hes insured with you.
them:is your dad over 30?
me yes
them: thats why.
me:so because im under 30..
them: yes

This was most insurance companies i called. Even though people say, aaah balls to em, just stick em back on, after the crash i had in august, if they were on i would have had void insurance, leaving me with a very bent car and £4.5k of repairs

What insurance company are you using so I can remember never to use them!

All of the companies I have spoken to have said if its factory fit from new then they are ok, because I went through the list of extras I wanted just to make sure.

The only question they asked was.. is that the 24v Stilo... Huh!!! there isnt one I replied... well its on our database.... well your database is wrong!

Like PJP said, amny dealers and the car companies themselfs add all sorts of options to cars and take some away, the insurance companies could really keep up with all the changes... but sadly some of the insurance companies are stubborn Fs who I guess are now discriminating the under 30s!! maybe the next age group will be the 40s as when I had my first cars the age group they were all quoting for lower quotes on mods was 25.

SUCKs but what can we do.
