JTD starting mystery issue again

Hi all.
I've had 3 mareas and now in Stillo mode.
my 2nd Marea developed a starting problem - totally random, refused to start on the key. crank sensor was done, made no difference, diagnostics never found it -cause it happened random - but rendered the car useless as you never knew, frequently, when it wouldnt start, hot or cold. half day or next day later it would start. i had to sell it. wish I'd kept buyers details for solution ! I killed my last marea at 130k, towing the caravan, it never did it. Now have a stillo. 1.9jtd and its started the same thing. Any ideas, as struggling in Falkirk, Edinburgh area to find garages. thanks. Peter
PS - to turn the brake cylinders back in on the rear calipers - an angle grinder key is almost exact fit !

Low battery in the key..??
I change it once a year.

thanks for that, but the central remote locking works fine, so doubt it can be that.
I'll look on the other model specific pages as the cars sitting in the garage waiting for the fault to recur !

is it definitely clearing the immobiliser..?
KEY symbol should go out after a few seconds..,
