Bought some of this Millers Ecomax Octane booster, add so much prior to filling a tank of diesel, had to flick down my tuning box toggle to the next setting!!, makes a huge difference to power delivery with/without a tuning box. Great stuff :D. About £11.00 a bottle.

I thought Diesels were all about cetene and not octane numbers.

Although I do remember hearing back in the old days of Dielses adding a couple of litres of Petrol to a tank of diesel in Winter helped them start on cold days.

Correct. Centane! should of known, Octane for petrol. (y)

Hello

Do you mean this stuff http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/..._productId_370465_langId_-1_categoryId_255221 ?

If it is then i've used it too and it is good stuff. I didn't notice much difference to start off with but quite a few miles later the car did feel a bit smoother. Also I don't know if it was me but my MPG seemed to have increased....nothing too spectacular though, 1-3 mpg perhaps.

Phil

Phil. Yes. A little improvment in MPG, an increase of 3 - 4 miles to a gallon. MW feels more eager than before. I like it.

cheers for reminding me, i just used the last of my millers this afternoon, off to ebay to get another 3 bottles (10 tanks per bottle).
Your right though ive been using this for about 2 years now and it makes a massive difference to the pull and economy of the car, also the fumes are a lot clearer.
that and egr isolated makes the workhorse a very quick workhorse even though mines a mw.

that works out a lot cheaper 10 bottles for £89 inc del. if your high mileage like me then that will save you a few squids!!

It's thirteen quid a bottle at halfords - bit cheaper on ebay but not much, and if you sign up at quidco.com and register your debit card, you get 5% cashback on all purchases at Halfords, making it about 12.40, which is still a couple of quid more than online, but not the end of the world to save the inconvenience of missing the postman and having to queue at the sorting office on saturday morning.

Millers works out at about 2 or 3p per litre and saves about that or more in improved mpg. Premium diesel has a similar effect but costs an extra 10p or more per litre.
