Today the Aquaplastics click-to-donate web site set up by PlasticsEurope and WaterAid reached its target of 1.5 million clicks - more than 8 weeks ahead of schedule.
Thanks to your support, the site has raised a donation of 150,000 euro for WaterAid and will help deliver clean, safe water and sanitation to over 9,000 people in Ethiopia.
The success of the site has prompted the European plastics industry to pledge an extra 50,000 euro for the international charity WaterAid if 500,000 more clicks are generated by 22 June 2005. This would bring the total donation to 200,000 euro.
From now until 22 June, every day you click PlasticsEurope will donate 10 cents to WaterAid.
Over one billion people across the world lack access to safe water - one in six of the world's population.
