Is this part even a part? and hard to get hold of? xx

hi,

My garage guy is messimg me about alot!!
my cars' been out of action in his garage
for nearly 2 months!! i'm so p*ssed off!!

He's saying he can't get hold of this part
so finally i get the part name off him:

Thrust bearing housing ON the actual gearbox

Is this a part + how easy is it to get hold
of one?

any help would be much apporeciated!

I don't know what he means by "housing". The bearing goes into a fork. Should pick one up at a scrapyard, they are not things that usualy break. There will be one on every gearbox so any wrecked boxes will have one.

get your car towed to a different garage 2 months!! think of the insurance money and tax you have wasted!!

re "housing"

Unless of course he means the bell housing,that is the bit that bolts on to the engine. Again from a scrapper. It is quite large but easily got from a wrecked box

The bell housing is part of the gearbox, they have not been removable for a LONG time.

Maybe he means the clip that holds the bearing to the fork.

worst case would be get a S/H gearbox from breakers yard, imo get your car back and take it to a different garage! where you based?
