Technical Is my engine a mix ?

One more question...got it running fine and did a test drive today. It's difficult to judge everything because the car is more quiet than it used to be, so i'm hearing new stuff. I'm not sure if it lacks power because I drove with caution since it was a test drive but it did feel a less more lively than it used to be. Also I heard popping (was also present with the old carb) when taking the foot off the accelarator. After a shutting of it made one 'thummmmp' from the exhaust. Also I feel that is slow in dropping revs and after switching off it takes about 2 seconds before it really shuts off.

Could this be timing? I have set the timing on idle with a strobe. My cheapisch strobe couldn't handle the speed of a wasted spark on higher revs.

New noises - always a worry! I'm always spooked by them.

I've had similar symptoms to you if I accidentally turn the key fully to the left rather than to the middle. Somehow, the coil can still get power when the key is turned to the left, though not enough for it to run properly.
