ipod touch not recognised

Finally took the plunge and bought an adaptor ... to play my ipod touch.
I have used a memory stick successfully.

Connected to usb using b&m adaptor as instructed... nothing happened.

"no source available" when trying to select media player. Waited~5 minutes and the same error message came up.

Changed ipod cables, no difference.

Tried the memory stick through the adaptor and the memory stick still works. Borrowed a htcphone and it was recognised and worked.

Starting to think maybe adaptor is faulty...

b&m s/w was updated by garage in Nov-11.

Any ideas please?

I'm in the same boat, I have bought an adapter and it won't recognise my iPod touch and I have no idea why not. I have installed the blue and me update but it keeps coming up on the stereo as source unavailable

Anyone got any ideas????
