Ipod connection

ok, i have a 07 GP which has not got blue and me, i really want to get my ipod hooked up to it, but dont want to have to do it via FM transmitter nor do i want lots of wires all over in the car,

so i have been to both of the local halfords and have asked the same question, but got the same answer from both,

that it is not possible to do it with out wires every where!

i dont want to change the original head unit as i dont want to loose the steering wheel controls

and i want a decent fitted one so that it looks good

does any one have any suggestions on what i can do?

or pictures so that i can see what i can get...

any help would be great thank you

Right you best bet then is to run a AUX port out the back of the head unit.

have a read through that guide. The clip on the side holding the MP3 on is a brodit clip see link http://www.dsldevelopments.com/brodit/MP3 Holder.asp It connects onto a metal plate that slides down the side of the head unit. This look spritty neat.

or if you want it totaly out the way you could always run the AUX lead out of the back and into the glove box. A lot more work but would be totally out of the way.

thank you both for your help but its not the kind of thing that am looking for... is there a fiat attachment that i can get a dealer to fit?

and with all this DIY stuff it wont happen, i dont know the 1st thing about the under bonnet or any of the electrics! hence the multiple trips to halfords! i was wondering if i could get a belkin one or somthing...

its for people who want to connect there ipod but do tnot have Blue and Me you dealer im sure will be happy to fit it for you. (dont know at what price but should be a quick job) Hope this helps

Wouldnt bother going to halfords they know nothing aswell and you can go to aftermarket HU and keep steering wheel controls.

I think the Ipod lead I suggested comes out in the glovebox so it would be out of the way anyway. but if you wanted it to be more neat, i would by somthing like this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Car-Van-Stick...ries?hash=item518babec20&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

instead of mounting it to the air vent I would just use double sidded sticky foam pads and stick it to where i wanted the ipod to be held in the glove box. Again just and idea. You can also get one main by fiat that sits in the cup holder in the front and holds the ipod. But as i said i think the lead comes out in the glove box.

Put your songs on a memory stick and use it that way, its much cheaper! i use an 80gb hard drive with about 400 albums on it!
