Thanks Robi.
that thread of infor mation could be of great help as I have still not found out whats causing my problem.I will definitelyask the auto electrician to take a look at the wires from the TPS.
Thanks Bernard
Your welcome Bernard. Fiat Ducato wiring and plugs are notoriously poor. I wasted money on a new TPS as well when all the time it was the wiring. Hope you find the problem, it can be so frustrating.

Hi Robi,
Had the auto electrician take a look at your sugestion and you get a BIG thankyou.Resistance found on 4 of the 6 wires from the TPS to the first conection under the dash. Removed the faulty conector and soldered the wires direct :rolleyes: WAHA problem solved:D:D:D:D Thanks every one for your help.

Great news, but what a waste of £5500+!!!!!!!!!!!
It scares me that garages plug in a computer and fire the parts cannon at whatever it comes up with without any proof of diagnosis.
I'm following Diagnose Dan on Youtube - he gets lots of "challenges" like this sent to him by other dealers - and he always proves a point before changing a part, and the diagnosis skills are clearly epic and beyond most garages.
I've had a "similar" incident on a ford, no one (not even ford van specialist main dealer) had any clue apart from changing parts I'd already proven were fine, and one guy on a forum gave me a pointer - an the fault was found - SOMEONE (not me) had swapped the EGR and Turbo vacuum control pipes!!!!!!!! Had ford run a simple actuation test from the computer, they'd have seen acutating turbo moved EGR and vice versa, and hence would've been 15 min fix - but they just ran DCTs and "you need a new intercooler" (!). I can rant all day.

Hence on the fiat (new van) I've bought software already to actuate everything if needed!!

10/10 to @RobL for putting the fix idea out there

So glad you found the problem Bernard😄. Also thank you Burntmarmite for your recognition.
Mechanics these days rely far to much on a "computer says no" mentality instead of good old fashioned diagnosis. If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck it's probably a duck.
Good luck to everyone.

Hi Robi,
Thanks again, your right about plug, search and the computer says:unsure:replace this replace that and we pay the bill but there is still some good guys out there if you can find them.
Thanks Bernard

Hello Having fun,
I am wondering is your problem is solved already? The people having this problem got it all solved by a very simple solution.. I have even done this to try to filter out my own problem, and otherwise I would have done it out of precause.
From the throttle pedal potentiometer towards the ECU, is a connector (white plastic connector) hidden under the dashboard. Alle people with the ignition light problems got it solved by either checking if the loom on the injection connection was too short and failed to make good contact and otherwise connect through the cables of this connector under the dashboard.

Most people who replaced this cable on the injector eventually didnt get it solved after a while of driving and the problem really seem to be in this white connector.

Greetings,
Danny

Thanks for your response, new throttle pedal fitted and connecting cables to the ECU repaired a few months ago that had cured a acceleration problem. Just can't get to the bottom of this injector light problem,I solve one and another one takes it's place.

Hi,
Thanks for your response , definitely not the injector heaters that light goes off its the red injector light on the left of the dash is staying on.

Did you meant to post that answer in this topic, by any chance?

Hello having fun!
I wrote that message to you as I am having issues myself with my 230 2.8jtd Ducato. I have a power problem which is variable but never had an injector light on my dashboard. I have been reading basically everything that excists regarding Ducato's on the internet I am assuming..

In the Netherlands a mechanic explained on the biggest Dutch camperforum what the issue is behind the red injector light popping on and sometimes off. It is what I told you for 100% of the cases that came by in the Netherlands.

I am not sure with your steering wheel being on the other side, but I am assuming that therefore the wires also must be on the right side of the car.

So very simply.. if you follow the wires from your throttle pedal potentiometer up to the first white connector.. that's the connector that I and all I spoke to have removed and soldered the cables through. This has solved the injector light issue on all Ducato's with chassis number starting with ZFA230..
I would say worth a try..
