A thread with the above title appeared on the Motorhomefun forum about a week ago, and to date there is no resolution.

The original thread may be viewed here.

The OP has posted some photos including one of his x244 battery fuseboard "B099". In the circumstances I am surprised that there have been no comments regarding the state of the alternator fuse (F72) This fuse is the pink (125A) midi fuse towards the right (vehicle left) in the attached photo. It seems to have at least been under severe electrical stress, as the pink encapsulation is mainly absent. For reference, I am also attaching a marked up photo of the fuse board.

The OP has tested F72 in situ. While these fuses are not the easiest remove, and for safety removal requires the battery negative to be disconnected, I suggest testing with the fuse removed. Further, in view of its damaged state the fuse should be replaced, even if it is intact.

Inspection of the OP's photo also suggests that fuses F71, and F73 have been interchanged. F71 next to the orange mega fuse should be white (80A), and the converters fuse (F73) is supplied as brown (70A).. The OEM x244 2.8jtd alternator is only rated at 90A!

I has read an update on the original thread. Apparently the problem has now been resolved by replacing the alternator fuse, and cleaning up the fuse mounting plate.

It should be noted that on the x244, where the battery is under the bonnet, the battery fuse board is normally covered by a plastic clip on cover. This cover seemed to be missing from the faulty vehicle.
