Interesting discussion!

nope i dont think they should( ex smoker... last one was like a year and a half ago....so im just a moody all the time now) its rubbish over here anyways you end up going home with more than you went in with half the time

Dont people think cigarettes have enough tax on them already

Personally i dont think smokers should have to pay more for healthcare - as it cant really be seen any different to drinkers etc. You cant single people out just because they smoke.

Why not? Insurance companies discriminate against age/sex/lifestyle etc... why shouldn't this effect what we pay for health care?

Because as stated already smokers are already heavily taxed & still have to pay the same amount in income tax & national insurance.

From my point of view it seems that the NHS was set up to provide free health care for all. That means FREE. Now we pay national insurance and tax to support the NHS and Fire Service etc. The point is the NHS belongs to the people, and everyone is equal, so no one should pay more than any other. I cant stand smoking, but I would defend anybodies right to smoke if they wanted as long as it didnt harm me. Unfortunately this country seems obsessed with the cost of everything, and the value of nothing.

ok thats that if ya smoke and die then no one cares cause your a weak minded person and on the money if you judge by on pack of 20 ciggs approx 3-4 pound

lets say 4 pounds then 1 packet twice to three times a week.

lets say three times a week

thats 12 pounds a week

ok so times by 52

thats 624 pounds a year so you could afford a faster car on more expensive insurance. rather than spend it on ciggarettes.

This is true buying my car by giving up.
But I think your well off the mark at £12 a week, I wish, that would be more like a day.

As for the question no I do not think smokers should pay more acually I think it is about time the non smokers shut up and remember everyone has rights not just the ones with the most noise.
