Can anyone tell me where the inertia switch is located on the Fiat Brava ( Y Reg ). Ran over someones tail pipe and car won't start now. Think the fuel cut off has taken effect but don't know how to reset.
passenger side footwell left hand side under the ecu.
if you follow the plastic trim on the door sill forward you will see a round opening its in there

sorry, as in is the inertia switch the problem?
it can be by-passed, but its not advisable, by just taking it off and connect the wires together to make a switch.
If that button has not popped up then it won't be the problem, What is wrong with the car?
Does it turn over ok when it starts up?
Have you checked that the bump has not disconnected your battery leads? HT leads? or anything else under the bonnet?
Checked out the car again and the inertia switch wasn't the problem. The problem was running over the exhaust cracked the crank shaft sensor so the engine wouldn't fire, same symptoms as if inertia switch triggered.
