General in car ceramic heater

they are better than nothing..,
but with a 12V supply you will get low heat - compared to a Mains 240 V hairdryer / fan heater,

And it's a great way of fl;attening the battery.

If the ice is on the inside, find the leak, cure the condensation. If on the outside, newspaper or a proper windscreen cover will sort it.

yeah in an old panda I had as it was just sat there tried it, CRACK!! Windscreen broke..

Had one in the Clio... -- and it was cr*p: i.e. utterly inefficient at demisting anything other than a small spot; but -- as fingers99 said -- very good at sucking juice out of the battery....

I have wondered about it before tho, stick a spare battery in the boot - stick it on the parcel shelf, and leave it on for 30mins before you leave the house

After a while it'd slowly warm the car up and start melting the ice
