Morning all,
Our nearside mirror glass fell out a couple of weeks ago and so I contacted my local dealer to order a replacement mirror glass. Our 1.2 Easy has heated electric mirrors which were of course a cost option.
When ordering, I made the point a couple of times to make sure it was definitely the glass for the heated mirrors and not just for the standard mirror.
Anyway - when I went to pick up the mirror glass, I opened the box and surprise, surprise - it was the wrong one.
However, having done some investigations, it turns out that it is actually impossible to order a heated mirror from the central inventory list that the dealers have; there are only two part numbers available, both of which are for standard nearside/offside mirrors.
The latest is that this has been raised to head office in Italy, and apparently they are going to have check their stocks to see whether they have any, or whether the ones being attributed to the UK part numbers are just wrong.
This does all sound a bit crazy, but my dealer actually popped the reg number of a 2011 yellow Panda Active into the system, and the part numbers came up for heated mirror glass for the 2009-2012 variants.
I will keep you all posted on how this progresses, but if you have heated electric mirrors and need to order replacement mirror glass, it appears that you are going to have difficulty!
