My passenger side headlight makes that noise? Like its constantly trying to adjust? Why does it do that and does anyone know a fix?

I thought you'd know that one

It means the adjusting motor has a problem but it's difficult to say exactly what until it's examined. You'll find really long threads on the topic with all the info on how to fix.

I actually have the same problem but mine clears after about 5-10 secs.

Not sure why, but have also found that using the adjuster (on dash) can make it stop.

If you really do have a problem then it's best to take a look at it now before the motor chews itself up although I think it's a bumper off job

Have you checked to see if the button on the dash is stuck?

beat the living s-h etc etc out of my dashboard so if it wasn't broke it probably is now... hopefully gonna get a chance to pull the motor this weekend and start praying otherwise I'll be thankful I'm a short ass and hope I can squeeze my hand in with the wheel arch lining out .

Part is around £60 or so I think.Johnny

Current price from Fiat is about £70 for the motor, but there is a thread on here where someone posted that some Ford and VW motors are the same as Stilo ones but were only about £26.

This only applies if you have normal filament bulb headlamps, the motors for original gas discharge headlamps are completely different.

Took the chain grease spray, pointed the straw to its base and sprayed half the thing in there.. Immediate effect, smooth as a whistle. I never had that clicking sound, so I guess the parts are fine.

Chain Grease Spray? Please advise me... I'll get some and sort mine out! Its been with me for so long i would love to quickly get rid of it too!

I knew I'd read somewhere you could do this without the bumper off

It's also in that thread about using a Mondeo unit and about repairing the motor in the car.

Gonna keep an eye out on fleabay for a motor me thinks.

In the meantime it would be more fun to get the highbeam fixed for my 10 miles of leathal country roads in pitch black if anyone has any ideas !? :hm:

Thought I'd add my niggles 2.

I get a number plate light warning from time to time but I can't check it cause the screws are rusted.

Sometimes my indicators don't go off and the tick is really low doesn't help my steering wheel points to 11 o'clock when wheels are straight. How much does it cost to get it tracked, would it fail not cause of this?

These sound a lot more than niggles - they're two problems that need sorting.

Hi,

I used Repsol Moto Chain Lube, got it from Carrefour and costs about 8£ in Romania. It's actually kind of cool as it has an oily state when it comes out of the recipient but it turns to white grease in about 1 hour.

Also, the parts that need sprayed are pointed by the arrows in the below attachment. Just point the nozzle in those areas and give it a big spray.
The picture shows the backside of the pedal, just where the hydraulic rod connects to the pedal itself, and it's impossible to see it without a camera so you'll need to feel your way around it.

The picture was taken before I've actually put the lube in there, as I've explained before, I was greasing the wrong parts so the white thing in there on the upper hinges is the chain lube.

If there's anything else you want to ask, please feel free to do so and I'd be more than happy to reply.

if you get it tracked, or more importantly WHEN you get it tracked. Might be beneficial going somewhere with Lazer Tracking as this is far more accurate and eradicates user error.

I doubt very much having it laser tracked would correct the fact that your steering wheel in at 11 o'clock when your wheels are straight. There just isn't that much adjustment in the tracking rods.

:OffTopic: ALERT! But Argonought, I remember a while ago got a new heavy duty battery. I am due to put a new battery in soon as mine is a bit shot, plus i have a sub and amp (more strain) and the ever closing in winter.
