Ignition live question

I've recently purchased a new stereo for my 06 fiat punto grande, I took the old stereo out and installed the new one but there was no power. I'm now hearing people say about ignition live or something. Can anyone talk me through how to fix this?

If you do a quick search you'll find it's been covered quite a bit. You either need a canbus box like the Connects2 adapter or run a new wire for switched live from somewhere like the 12v socket.
