I used to know a farmer who owned a polski fiat, wouldn't have anything else, he'd had it for years & never had a problem, the thing simply kept on running.
An old neighbour swore by Ladas, he had a Lada estate which was years old & had almost 200k on the clock.
These were both cars that were laughed at by the general public - egged on by motoring magazines & the like.
My dad & I managed to get a great deal on Nissan Stanzas by buying two at the same time.
Identical cars, both garaged, after the initial warranty service I serviced & repaired both cars. Both doing almost identical mileage.
We kept the cars a similar length of time, I had loads of problems with components failing, major rust etc, his was immaculate to the end! Go figure.

but they sold in same dealer, well are here anyway
Part of the Franchise Agreement signed by all BMW dealerships when they took on MINI was that they had to build a completely separate showroom for MINI by a certain date (I forget when that is as it's been over a year since I left). If they don't they will lose the MINI franchise.

There are still a few dealerships that have them in the same showroom (the one by you obviously being one of them) but there won't be for much longer.

They are allowed to share Workshop/Service Reception/Parts facilities though.

thats like a tuning company with a dodgy rep opening up a new business under diffrent name with diffrent directors, but still have the same dodgy staff :(
I don't agree. MINI isn't BMW by another name, it has always been a completely separate brand since it first opened for business in 2001.

its just what everyone has been saying about fiats that a lot of things go wrong compared with cars, hopefully it will be nice weather tomorrow coz i want to give mine a clean.

EVERYONE :eek: i,m an old git and i know a lot of people:D but EVERYONE is a big statement to make, if you were listening to EVERYONE you wouldn,t have any time left for much else :D would you?

i dont care what people say about my car, as im the one who owns it and drives it

just as i dont care what people think of me as well - its there decision lol

everyones entitled to there own opinion

How vague was that first question???
My knowledge of fiat is the engines just want to keep going and going and love to be revved a lot more than other road cars.

What car forum were you on?

Unreliability is a reputation that fiat are finding difficult to shake. Unfortunately other car owners seem to be dillusional about their own cars and look past all the faults they have.

Fiats do go wrong, but it's not usually as serious or costly as the problems other well known manufacturers have.

Find a car thats not been looked after well and then hear the owner complain that it's a shed.
