Wax and polish are two completely different things.

Wax is for protecting the finish of the car and polish is to clean/improve the quality of the finish.

There is no way you should be having to do this 3 times a week, a good was should last at least 4 weeks without having to top it up and after a few layers it should last longer.

i challenge you to get your car as clean as mine :slayer:

but seriously. beat this :)

you will not be able to beat black, thats a fact as it draws in more light in from its surroundings and gives off better reflections, end of... :p

bozzy, that is a seriously nice stillo, well done buddy, keep up the good work. :D (y) which model is it? looks fandabidozy!!! :D

T-JET, the two bucket method is simply one bucket mixed with your solution, i.e. the car shampoo, the other is a plain bucket of water. you should charge your wash mitt with the shampoo, then clean the desired part of the car, then rinse in the bucket of plain water and carry on repeating this until the car is finished! :) this would then mainly keep all the dirt and grit in the bucket of plain water, and away from the bucket with the solution in which then should create less swirls and scratches on the paintwork of your beloved car! :)

Jassyo, i still disagree with you. for instance, whilst meguiars products from halfords etc are pretty good, the professional range which you have to buy from online dealers etc is far better.... and as S-X-I has said, the wax and polish are completely different, the polish offers no protection at all, it will just improve the finish giving a better depth to the overall paintwork the wax is the product that offers protection from bad weather, grime, dirt etc etc

and waxing isn't just about 'shining a car' what about the depth to the paintwork it will give, what about popping or muting the flake to create the look you want, and what about the protection and durability it offers? the price tag usually is warrented by all the things the wax offers, you get what you pay for!

it is good stuff, the dealer gave me the stage one and two glazes when i picked up my GP and aplied it and was very impressed with it. i had always said to people it's rubbish. but when you think of 300quid, i suppose its the dealers who are rubbish for charging such an extortionate price. the product is very good. but you can buy the kit from ebay for about £15 and do it yourself and save arfound £285!!!! but as kris said, any good polish, then some decent wax and a sealant will give just as good a finish and protection. :D

As part of the Squeezing everything i could out of the dealer, I got him to do it half price (£150) Scotchguard the interior and throw in a box of cleaning products.

sounds like i got a good deal!

so after washing the car do you apply the polish before the wax or the other way aroun?
