General I am really upset!!!

I love this forum btw, its gr8, been looking every day since before i ordered for tips :worship: I am really upset as i ordered my little baby on the 14th may and was told end of june beginning of july i rang last week and got told that it was 6 days away and in the country so naturally i was delighted and really excited!! didnt hear anything so have just rang again and was told by my salesperson that it was on the boat not even on dry land!! He said i was looking at another three weeks!! very upset as currently driving around in a fourteen year old vw polo that is nearly about to explode and exhaust sounds like it is nearly about to fall off and the steering wheel keeps smoking!!! Not good has anybody had this problem from their dealership?

I am having exactly the same - ordered just before you, been told the boat landed with my car last Friday - I called the dealer today hoping the car would be with them, to find it hasn't even got through customs yet!

I was hoping to have it before my wifes birthday on Tuesday, but no chance now.... What a pain in the rear end....

Here's hoping your Polo lasts out - smoking steering wheel... hmmm sounds a bit dodgy!

I think you delaer was very optimistic with his proposed delivery date, perhaps to secure your business. Of course they may hev had an unsold car int he build system that was spec changeable to your preferences, but given the popularity of 500s now scrappage is available thats highly unlikely.

Work on 10-12 weeks from 14th May and you get to thrid/fourth week in July which is consistent with your recent information.

Agree with this. I ordered at the start of May and I'm getting my car any day now. So juging by dates yours is at least 2 weeks off

Grr did you order this at the preston docks??? I had to practically do all the work for the guy when ordering my car, so annoying!! Im still waiting for my car and was told when i rang that it would be the 1st week in August.

Hmm lets hope it is! Im getting preeety impatient!

you could try asking if the dealership would lend you a car as yours is about the give up on you...you could also say that they did say it would be with you sooner and now this has changed? they do have loan cars and it is not your fault that the car is taking so long to get to you?

Your chances of getting a loan car from the dealer are about 1 in 1000 - they gave you an estimate of delivery, no guarantee.

You could pick up another banger in an auction for £100 if you are desperate - lot better than hire car charges

I order on 6th June and have just been told that will be about 3 weeks (although can see it being longer) As long as its there for Sep 1st (which will give it the full 12 weeks) I'm happy.

In all fairness, unless the salesman was pretty slack in getting the order sent off it really is out of their hands.

I was told 12 weeks but it actually took 16 weeks for mine to arrive but I knew the order had been placed PDQ because I was sent the official order within a week and asked to check everything was to my original spec sheet.

My dealer was very helpful and offered me a very good trade in price on my car, because of the delay, even though that wasn't part of the original plan.

I ordered it from chorley Nissan fiat at squires gate lane in the end as i phoned preston and they never got back to me re test drive so i drove up to blackpool instead!! i have heard bad things since about preston so i am glad i drove to blackpool. my order is just a bog standard BNW 1.2 pop which has got nothing on it but i have got a red number 5 to put on it later!! When i went in i was that excited i dont even no what the boot size is!! I took it for a test drive but to be honest i already wanted the car so i wouldnt have minded if it drove like a bag of spanners!! Not that it does, its an improvement on my VW polo anyway!!! I was a bit upset as one person told me one thing then i rang a week later and the salesman that sold it me told me another story!! But otherwise they have been nice. And i had already told everybody i know that it was coming in 6 days!!! Cue everybody asking where is the car, how is the car, have i picked a name yet, when is it arriving, when can they go out in it!!! Its got a life of its own already!! I cant wait, roll on end of july!

I was exactly the same...I had made my mind up that I was having it before I even sat in the car! My car seems to have been on the boat forever, It's now been 'in transport' on the boat for 3 weeks! Is this about right? Does anybody else know how long it takes to get from Poland to England? I ordered mine on 19th May so it shouldn't be that much longer now!

To be honest, they are really bad at the docks. I went in and i had my mind made up I wanted the car.... waited about 15 minutes for anyone to even look at me never mind ask me if i needed any help. I think i got the new guy as he didn't have a CLUE and looked about 14! Wish i had the sense to go to another dealers.

Oh well just hope he remembered to order it!

yep, also in the same boat (so to speak). Ordered my little baby on 19th May and im still waiting. Everytime i ring the dealer i get what can only be described as a blank expression - but verbally!!!!

I had my car on the scrappage scheme but then last week i had a lovely crash into a lorry and so my Audi was trashed (as you may have guessed). Luckily you can still have your car on the scrappage as long as the dealer is willing to still accept the car. I bet the insurance company were ecstatic about this as all they have had to pay for was an initial recovery and then transport from a yard in Nuneaton over to Leicester.

So now i have no car and still waiting for my little baby to come from Polski land.

It will be interesting to see who gets theirs first. Good luck to us all!!!!

I ordered mine on 8th June and after speaking to my dealer last week its at status 16 and due in the country on 3rd August, should have it couple of weeks later. Can't wait, but if it is ready mid August do I wait for the new reg??

It depends on how long you're planning keeping it. May add a bit to Glasses guide price (when you come to sell) if you do wait the extra two weeks but can't imagine it'll be much now they change every 6 months.
Could you wait is more likely the question? x
