Hello all,

Sorry if this has been asked before but I need a quick answer as to what battery I need for 2014 Fiat 500 lounge stop/start what brand should I go for? and does it have to be a super expensive stop/start compatible one?

I got a parking ticket today because I couldn't move my car. I have now challenged it so fingers crossed

So I need to know asap.

Many thanks, in advance :)

Do you use the stop start?
Do you  want it to work?
Does your driving habits/style/distance provide enough charging to actually keep the system working?
Odd question does the Bluetooth work?
is the sensor wire still connected not snapped like some?
Varta would be my recommendation from either Tanya or thebaterymegastore
Probably cost £100
If youre not bothered and pretty much turn the system off all the time or it just doesn't work then a non ss battery would be fine
This has good cranking amps

Ok, I don't use the start/stop
I don't think I want to use it
My driving habits have been less in the last 6 months
Bluetooth was working the last time I tried it
A mechanic checked it over and didn't say anything was wrong so I guess that the sensor wire is ok

I read a few things that said you need a start/stop compatible battery for the MOT ???
If you don't have a compatible battery and just a standard one it can cause significant problems and you'd have to change a standard battery sooner than the start/stop.

My other cars were just normal so this has foxed me a little

My 2013 car's original S/S battery was faulty from new. After months of stalling (not the car, the FIAT dealer! :giggle:) they eventually replaced it, but fitted a standard battery, not the proper EFB. The car ran for three years on the standard battery with no ill effects and the S/S worked properly - I only replaced it with an EFB when I later learned that that was the correct type. These days I leave S/S switched off and if your car allows you to do so I suggest you do the same.🙃

The reason I asked about the Bluetooth is it can fail and lead to a flat battery, even if replaced with a new one if the cars not driven much ie every day.
If you only use the car a few times a week and only do short trips the ss won't operate anyway its up to you a non ss battery would be ok with your driving style never heard of battery type being an issue for mot just has to be secure

Hi, if Bluetooth has stopped working do you know if it can be disconnected to prevent flat batteries ? And if so what’s the best way to disconnect. I ask since my odometer blinks constantly and I read that this indicates a failed Bluetooth, I never use Blue and Me Bluetooth so it doesn’t bother me, except for flat batteries.

Bluetooth module is in the rear passenger quarter panel, you have to physically unplug the cable, then have Proxi alignment carried out to stop the mileage flashing, simply unplugging it won't stop the flashing

Thanks for your reply. That’s the answer I was looking for, appreciated.
