AS far as I understood it, it still needs a manual cable despite there being two separate cylinders as the hydraulic circuit can loose pressure over time whereas a cable won't.

That what I thought anyway, but it is a bit grey area really lol

The point of this was how to do the hydraulic in addition to the cable one in a car with dual circuit. diagonally split brakes.

Grey area has gone away, as even the MSA are now looking for a handbrake cable at log book stage, hence the development of twin cylinder handbrake assemblies.

Cheers

I honestly wouldn't put a price on braking, it's damn well important not to scrimp :D.

I've been looking at wilwood cylinders and the price for those is pretty impressive :bang:.

Alternative was a complete new pedal box with cylinders built in.

might be something i'll look into more at a later date.

Thanks

I wouldnt bother with a hydralic handbrake unless you really need it (autotest) because its not worth the effort.

but yes i seen the twin cyclinder things before (people are fitting them on subarus to keep the split brake system)

I thought a cheaper/simple way to do it is to buy two cyclinders (can get them for £30each) then mount them under the car connected to the original hand brake.

leave the original cable on the hand brake and its all legal.
