Technical Humming noise whilst reversing

Hello

Thinking of booking our 500 in for a humming noise whilst reversing. It's a 14 month old twinair 105s 6200 miles on the clock. It did have the gearbox out about 4 months ago as the the 3rd gear synchro had fallen apart. I was hoping you guys would have a few ideas as to what it could be before I take it to Fiat. Better add this no problems with changing gear or clutch slip bit my wife only does about 6 miles a day.

If I remember groaning in reverse is not unheard of on this engine, will lets others add comment.

Depends on what you class as humming

Most cars make a humming type noise when reversing allthrough I assume you mean something other then the normal noise

Hi thanks for quick replies yeah it's never made this noise before it's very noticeable and drowns out the engine noise

Thanks that's the noise we have so I take it it's just a characteristic of the car and we are not doing any damage

Just check mountings for engine and gearbox, may be one thats worn
