Hi, First time on here, and it's a problem.

We have just bought a 500 Twin Air for our daughter. It's a 2012, with 47K.
There is a video of a chap online with the exact noise ours has see link... .

Can't seem to find a definitive answer on the noise. Is it a fault or a 'quirk'? I have just bought the car and the dealer is willing to stand the cost to repair.
He seems to think it might be the release bearing, but I am not convinced.

Any ideas, much appreciated.
Thanks,
Andy

You would think if it was the release bearing it would make the noise in all the gears! id think its more likely to be a bearing on the reverse shaft/gear! one way or the other the dealer ought to make it right! or refund you! IMO!

Our T/A has done it since we've had it, 6 years now and on 98k.

In that time it has had a new clutch as the release bearing failed at 80 odd thousand miles.

Ours is a non DMF. As I believe the TA's could come with either iirc...

Anyhoo, it still makes a noise, but has not got any worse and I think it does it more when reversing onto our drive which is slightly uphill.
