hi all

just wondering is there any signs tht you can notice when the cambelt needs changing or how can you check how good it is, to see if its been changed already.

thanks

1) Change it every 4 years regardless.

2) If you don't know if it's been changed or not, change it!!!

The price of a cambelt change is about £200.... OR

a new engine + labour = £800+

Don't take the risk.... cos you'll be so upset if it does snap.

Careful! That doesn't include the Aux Belt and it's tensioner or the water pump. Aux tensioner is usually the one that fails taking the cambelt with it.

OI! Road safety nutters!! George Orwell ment '1984' to be a warning, NOT a template!

wont the original belt say "fiat" on it(unless its worn away) mine says "gates" as i got mi dad(mechanic)to change it when i bought the car.
if it has been changed then you should have a sticker on the cambelt cover with the mileage of when it was done?

Sometimes you get a sticker to fill in with date and mileage etc.I have always put a sticker on with the details on every belt i have renewed

get a cambelt kit
also try to change the waterpump as well..makes sense to!
