OK, the CN+ just connected. No problems with flashing clocks or km. The only thing is that the steering-wheel buttons do not work and the Trip-Computer on the NAVI shows no values.

Larz, do u have any idea what I should do?

Jipp, this is what you need the ignition +12V for, otherwise the CN+ does not register with the body computer.

The ignition +12V has to go into pin 4 of connector A (this is the white connector that has all the power and CAN bus lines)

You can get the +12V from the cigarette lighter, the middle connector is +12V, the casing is ground.

Or you get it from your dash unit connector, the blue line on pin 1 has ignition +12V also.

Wherever you get it from, don't forget to put a fuse on the line you add, the smallest one available should suffice...

That is actually all you have to do if you have your CN+ code card with a 4 digit code.

If you don't have the code, I'll explain what you have to do later, just ask.

Hope this helps,
Lars.

Is there anywhere in the web the manual of CN+?

I find it difficult to deal especially with the mp3. I made a CD with folders but I can't choose the folder I want so I have to press NEXT and go through all the songs to get to the next folder.

Any ideas?

Not used mp3s myself yet, but this was posted by FiatFamily on another thread:

I suggest that you look at putting songs in folders. It will drive you mad if you don't. Finding the song you want becomes a nightmare. I save the MP3 tracks from each CD in a folder with the name of the Artist. Once you have all the folders completed just copy the folders to the CD. This way you can move from CD (folder) to CD by holding the skip forward button down for a few seconds, short presses move you from song to song within the folder.

Hi, if you understand a little German, you can download it here:

http://www.stiloclub.nl/

They have a PDF in the Connect NAV section.

Otherwise, your dealer can order one for you for sure...

Best,
Lars.

Yesterday I connected the extra power on the CN+, and now the trip computer is shown on the screen, the steering wheel buttons work, CD/mp3 and FM indications are also visible on the dashboard's LCD and I can save the setup settings for the CN+.

The problem is that the total km counter on the dashboard's LCD is flashing. I remember someone else had the same problem.

How can this be solved?

,

where is it possible to buy the 12v ignition line with fuse from, just like the one on the German website.

I just got some prices the other day...

From ePer

735303207 (microphone) 42 Pounds
46831352 (sim card adapter) 12 Pounds
46790149 (bracket) 7 Pounds
51732349 (gps/gsm antenna base) 144 Pounds
46772567 (gps/gsm/easy go antenna) 7 Pounds
51727440 (electric cable) 43 Pounds
71718768 (steering wheel controls) 197 Pounds

And then some of the parts I got real prices from a dealer for (mangoletsi... www.mangoletsi.com)

735303207 (microphone) £38.39
46790149 (bracket) £6.84
51732349 (gps/gsm antenna base) £129.72
51727440 (electric cable) £37.26
71718768 (steering wheel controls) £177.79

It's only worthwhile to get the cn+ unit itself second hand from someone, I think the ePer price is like 1400 pounds or something

EDIT: If you buy the proper GPS base and antenna, you can just replace your existing antenna - if you buy an aftermarket one, I think it has to go somewhere like the inside of your windscreen so it can pick up the satellite signals

Two things as I'm still considering this . . .

Karateka, the flashing mileometer (or km counter in your case) is a result of a CAN line break - I noticed this when I unplugged the parking sensor control from my mum's stilo unit as I was seeing if my stilo had the necessary wiring.

Secondly, i've noticed that my control panel on the ceiling light has a little 2cm x 1cm "grating/plastic mesh" thing (if I knew how to put pictures on here I would!), and I'm wondering if this is the microphone bit - or if I can buy the £40 panel with a microphone and wack it in.

Any ideas anyone?

Quick way is to just add it as an attachment - when you reply to a post, click on 'Go Advanced' then you will see a 'Manage attachments' button - this brings up a pop-up box - browse your PC to find pic, upload it, and voila :)

Ok, my brp's CN+ installation into his schumi has gone well, except for the flashing mileage problem. The CN+ (when Pin 4 of the Stereo ISO is connected to +12V (this should be ignition switched)) fires up OK and downloads all the information from the Body Computer and dash, so all the trip functions work, and the Stereo Repitition on the dash works ok. The only problem is, when the CN+ is fully on (i.e. not in standby), the mileage flashes.

Several theories have been put to us by various people. One says that it needs to be proxi realigned (see post in "Lets talk FIAT"), one says that the missing white connector needs to interface to CAN network, another says that the +12V switched ignition feed needs a 10 second delay so that CN+ will boot up after the initial CAN check . . . (The last one was from the Italian Club Stilo forum).

Any techies or anyone with any knowledge wanna help me out? Cheers guys :D

Ok 2 months later and I remembered to take the photo :D

Anyone think this could be a microphone type location? Although I doubt there will be a microphone in there. I could get the £40 microphone and make my alarm one have the microphone - the panel with microphone and alarm is about £185
