Technical How to change the head unit

I have had my double din Kenwood unit fitted back in. The glossy fascia was sprayed satin black and I think it looks ok.
....
It involved cutting away part of the air vent pipes behind the unit, but the air vent works fine.

Sutts - it looks great. Fair deuce to you on perserving. Everything looks 'natural' with the sprayed matt paint, Climate control, the Electroclash grey and the Sports steering wheel.

Thanks! It was sprayed satin black, rather than matt black. It's not a perfect match with the rest of the black dash, but it's close enough for comfort. The guy who took it to his father's spray shop told me that's what it needed. Looking at the spray job, I probably could have done it myself, but for the £20 he charged me I am a bit more confident that it won't chip off in the future!

You will be missed.

If my PM box is anything to go by, I expect you wouldn't be missed either. Who said I am going anyway? I could have a lot of fun with you, you're dim enough to wind up easily. :)

I remember you had the Mito before. What issue are you having with the 500 ?

I really like the car, but I just feel so self conscious of how small it is! I thought I could get used to it as I had a Citroen C1 once before, but I just can't.

I now have to take the stereo out again...and lose yet more money!! Cars!:p

Sounds like you've made your mind up.
For me the blasts that I've had down in West of Ireland and the ease of parking around the city is what has done it for me. Plus the drives in the Abarth 500 has kept my interest in the 500 alive...

If I may suggest that you give it a little more time and give it the beans when the coast is clear- it might re-kindle your interest.

Thanks...but it's too late. The car goes on Saturday (minus the stereo!). I bought a brand new Nissan Juke (Acenta Sport). The 500 is a lovely little car and whilst I of course knew it was small when I bought it, I just felt self conscious in it for some reason. My mistake, impulse buying, that's me all over.

I have enjoyed it here, thanks for the support and for being so friendly. Well, one of you wasn't so friendly, but that's the way it is on forums, it's not a problem to me.

Bye!:)

If you felt self conscious in the 500, just wait until people stare at the Juke! I've not met a single person who thinks they're anything but vulgar.

But whatever floats your boat I suppose! Literally. They look like boats. :p

I think the juke look quite cool.

Blimey, if I could afford to be selling a car I bought brand new after a few weeks, like some of you guys do, I could afford to drive around in a Merc or equivalent!
