Technical How long will my brakes last

Morning all,

Yesterday stopping at a junction, my brakes grinded quite noticeably.

It hasnt done it since but are squeaking.

I did notice I will need new discs soon when changing my wheels.

Just wondering how long they will last because the car is booked in for service + MOT March 9th.

Will it be okay until then do you think?

If they are grinding you are down to the metal, so no wont last till march, they need doing now, dont cost much and easy diy

As for it not costing much, it does need new discs. Will it still be fairly cheap?

Also, its not grinding all the time. Only done it once. That make a difference?

Think front discs and pads,cost me about £75 easy enough job see the guides section

for best quality ferodo pads and brake engineering discs where i work its £70.00 thats for the front.

that's more than my 2nd link and theirs includes delivery, you must be able to do cheaper than that

2 discs and 2 pads

For one disc it is £37. 2 disc = ~£80.

2 sets of pads, £60. thats nearly £140.

Am i missing something lol

my bad, i thought the price was for a pair, no one buys 1 disc

the brembo discs are only £64.03 a pair from the other link though, they are very good i have them
