How Fast! 1.8 just over 130mph...whats your fastest

I recently had the oppotunity to put my foot firmly down in my little 1.8i hlx...(obviously not on the queens road)...i sore 110, then 120 (thats the top speed on the books)i ashumed that was the end of it but my cheky 1.8 had more go....

I got to just the other side of 130mph! and it still had a bit more go...

Might i add that it was on level road! little wind!

I got home and it seems to be that the book on the hgt is just over 130mph...

So i was wondering what everyones top speed are in thier cars, (again not onb the queens road)especially HGT's but even 1.2's lets here everyones top speeds!!!

i can confirm this as well 130mph at 5900rpm 1.8 hlx

hi i was able to put my foot down as well a while ago on a flat strech. any way i found that it got to 130mph quite easy and the revs were 5900rpm. at this point i noticed that the speed would creep up slowly if you added more throttle but the rev did not move! i got it up to about 135 4 miles latter haha no really but i colud not get the revs to go above 6000rpm.????

1.2 2001 sx

I had 120 on the clock out of my 1.2 - lol

Bear in mind that was on the Brickhill ringroad down the A5 hill (for those of you that know it). So i was on a steep slant - i think taking off the 17's and the inacuracy in the clock i was prob at max speed 109 mph!

120mph out of a 1.2i can not argue at that...

Also could everyone state if they have moddified their engine in any way.... i have only got the k&n on but i have a full stainless in the garage which will go on when i have my rear extension put on...

Then i will try it again see how much i can get then!!

Has anyone got a hgt and taken around to the darkside of the clock?

I really wanna no how fast they can go if my 1.8 can do 130+mph!!!

Conditions/Road: Flat surface, heavy rain. 3am in the morning

Top Speed: 122mph (on clock) @ 4100Rpm (Redline 4,500)

Conditions/Road: slightly downhill, dry sunday morning

120mph (private road of course), slight downhill. good conditions

(Nikkis HGT was behind but showing 125mph on clock)

Modifications: Full turbo conversion by Turbo Technics, with boost running at around 0.8Bar (11psi).

Top Speed: 150mph+ (went past the 150 mark) ~170

Conditions/Road: Everyroad I could get upto that speed on.

Still yet to see a HGT mentioned!!

Bravo 100 16v
No mods at all - Dual carriageway A46 to Leicester - Warm day - no wind - 2 adults in car.
Speedo showed 128 mph but it took about 3 mins to creep up to that. It might have gone further, but I was overtaking cars doing 60-70 like they were stationary and knew the brakes weren't up to the job of stopping me safely should I need them.
Changed my undies right after...cars like mine are not designed to go that fast, too much rattle and rumble for my liking so I won't be doing that again.

I had 124mph on the Rainworth Bypass in Mansfield before i ran out of road. Cars a 1.6 100sx with just K&N induction fitted. Bypass is a flat road and it was still going up before i had to slow down.

now thats a good road! - i go down there when i go to priory fiat! - its much more fun than driving to the london road fiat! - i also lost a hubcap on there doing 80mph! - after just been to fiat and seeing if the stilo wheels will fit my car!
and at last another bravo/a owner in nottinghamshire - i think that makes 3 or 4 now!!

Yeah, i came from the rainworth end as well so i didnt have the hill to get me going. Shame it also seems to be a magnet for moron drivers who like to swap lanes for no reason without looking in the mirrors!

I got just over 130 in my 1.6 16v (103bhp), Standard, but car begin to feel too light on its wheels to do anything safely so i slowed down, A50 following Mr Al's HGT think we did 110 comfortably untill some **** in a van decided he was pulling out and doing 70

bravo hlx full longlife nothing else saw 134 om a flat with little wind will seemed like it would go to about 137-8 revs were still less then 6000.

125mph at 5500rpm with my 1.6. Had more mph to squeek out of it, but as I live in Malta you can imagine what happened. I ran out of road.
